シティ・ポップ、昭和歌謡やSoul/R&Bに影響された音楽性を特徴としたスリーピース・ユニット。
イラストレーターとしての側面も持つ台湾在住のシンガー・Kanbin、元Kero Kero Bonitoとしても知られるロンドン出身のプロデューサー・SKYTOPIA、Night Tempoほかサポートワークもこなすベーシスト・Kurojiにより2021年に結成後、立て続けにシングルとEPをリリース。
Spotify『シティポップの今』『Women’s Voice』、Apple Music『最新ソング：J-Pop』、DJ HASEBEセレクトによる『TOKYO GROOVE』など含めた各種公式プレイリストを賑わせる。また、22年にMUSIC B.B.出演により地上波デビュー、FMヨコハマで1ヶ月間の番組ナビゲーターを担うなどメディア出演も行う傍ら、同年11月にはリモート体制で制作した1st アルバム『SUNSHOWER』をリリース。
アルバムと連動したクラウドファンディングや、23年1月に行われた台湾ツアーも成功させ、精力的かつボーダレスな活動を続けている。
Formed by singer Kanbin, producer SKYTOPIA, and bassist Kuroji in 2021, the Tokyo based band KOMONO LAKE mixes genres such as city pop, Showa era songs, and modern Japanese soul/R&B, connecting the rural sounds and landscape with the urban. The band has made notable strides in 2021, with their songs featured on prominent playlists like Spotify’s “City Pop:シティ・ポップの今” and “Women’s Voice”, Apple Music’s “New In: J-Pop”, and DJ HASEBE’s “TOKYO GROOVE selected by DJ HASEBE”.
They made appearances on the Japanese TV show “MUSIC B.B” in 2022 and hosted a month-long radio show on “FM Yokohama”, whilst also releasing their first crowd-funded album, “SUNSHOWER” the same year. 2023 saw KOMONO LAKE embark on their first international tour in Taiwan w/ everfor, further enhancing their borderless reach.
